Privacy Policy for AI Power Badge

This Privacy Policy describes how Howe Industries, LLC (“Howe Industries,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the AI Power Badge browser extension and related pages at www.howeindustries.net/AI.

AI Power Badge is designed to estimate a user’s rolling AI activity across supported AI websites and display local stats such as AI power, graphs, ranks, and certificate previews.

1. What AI Power Badge does

AI Power Badge monitors activity on supported AI websites in order to estimate when a supported AI session is actively working and to calculate local statistics such as rolling 60-minute AI power, AI time in the last hour, AI time today, average power today, all-time high score, site-by-site contribution breakdowns, graph history and daily peaks, rank, HEC, and certificate preview data.

2. Information the extension handles

Depending on how you use the extension, AI Power Badge may handle the following categories of information locally in your browser:

supported site activity needed to determine whether a supported AI page is active or idle,
timestamps and timing events,
site names and contribution totals,
extension settings such as assumed watts per stream,
locally generated score history, rank history, graph history, and certificate preview data.

In the current beta, AI Power Badge is intended to keep this tracking data local to the user’s browser unless the user later chooses to leave the extension and submit data on a Howe Industries website.

3. Information we do not intentionally collect through the current beta extension

In the current beta, Howe Industries does not intend for AI Power Badge to send your local score history, popup statistics, certificate preview data, or browsing-derived tracking data to Howe Industries servers during normal extension use.

AI Power Badge is also not designed to sell personal data or use extension data for advertising or profiling.

4. Website visits and optional future uploads

The extension may include links to www.howeindustries.net/AI. If you choose to visit that website, the website may receive normal web traffic information such as IP address, browser information, and server logs, like most websites.

If Howe Industries later adds an optional feature allowing users to upload score files or certificates to compare standings or join a leaderboard, that feature will be voluntary and will be governed by the privacy disclosures then in effect for that website feature.

5. How we use information

We use information handled by the extension to provide the user-facing features of AI Power Badge, including calculating and displaying AI power and related metrics, storing local settings and score history, generating graphs, certificate previews, and local comparison views, improving reliability, debugging, and maintaining the extension and related services, and complying with legal obligations and protecting against abuse or misuse.

6. Sharing

In the current beta, Howe Industries does not intend to receive or share locally stored extension score data during ordinary extension use.

We may share information only in limited circumstances such as with service providers that help operate our website or business, when required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, to protect rights, safety, security, users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

7. Data retention

Local extension data generally remains in your browser’s extension storage until you delete it, reset it, or remove the extension.

If you contact us directly or later choose to submit information through our website, we may retain that information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was submitted, plus any period needed for legal, security, or operational reasons.

8. Your choices

You can stop future local collection by disabling or removing the extension.

You can also clear extension data by removing the extension from Chrome. Depending on your Chrome setup, reinstalling the extension may start a new local data set.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures intended to protect information we handle. However, no method of storage, processing, or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s privacy

AI Power Badge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the extension.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
